Darn government.
Mom got a letter from medicaid on Saturday saying that she has been denied. That makes me mad. Mom says that it was because they have too many possessions. She said that they will reapply in a couple of months and hopefully they will approve her because they no longer have the Durango and dads truck since the bank took them back.

I sure hope it works out that way!

Give and you can receive...
Hello, as you all know my mother has cancer. She is no longer working and dad is on disability which just covers the mortgage and the electric bill.

So since this ChipIn event for mom is over on the 30th I wanted to make this special offer to you all. If you contribute $20.00 to moms ChipIn fund I will make you a pair of earrings.

The earrings will be made to your specifications as far as color and length. You tell me what you want as far as length/color and I will use the beads I have to make you a special pair! I can make them in copper or sterling silver.

OR: If you give $10.00 to moms ChipIn fund I will send you a pair of earrings from my stash. I get to pick them for you and you get to be surprised.

I want to say a huge thank you to all of you who have already contributed.

Zoe says thanks for helping my Nana!!!

Good News!
Mom's blood tests show that her cancer levels are about half of what they were before she started the chemotherapy!

I also wanted to let everyone know about mom going to the church she worked at to get some paperwork. She was there and got on the computer to find and print out some information she needed for her disability application. Well, she was having a VERY hard time figuring out how to get the information. She looked at my dad and said "And I thought I was going to come back to work?".

Basically she is just not able to do the work she once did because all of the medication she is on is causing her to forget and she is having a hard time understanding things.

But the chemotherapy is working!!! What a very happy thing for mom and all of us!

Bless you all for giving and for your prayers.

Good news and not so good news.
The good news is that mom is doing pretty well. Her pain level is low now and the pain she has is easily managed with medication. I believe this means that the chemotherapy is doing it's job and shrinking the cancer.

More good news is that the cancer center paid for a wig for mom. So now as mom's hair falls out she won't be feeling naked because she has the wig. It's a pretty nice wig too.

Now for the not so good news. Mom lost her job. She worked at Christ Lutheran Church for almost 20 years and when since she has been too sick to work they "let her go". This has been so hard for mom to accept. Also dad told me today that mom has reached the cap for medications with her insurance. Now ALL of her medications has to come out of my parents pockets which are empty since dad's disability check just covers the mortgage and electricity. I have no idea what they are going to do now. Mom applied for state Medicaid and hopefully she will get it. If she does they will pay for all of her medications and hospital stays and for the Dr and nurses at the cancer center.

Mom had a treatment today please pray that she does okay and that the nausea is controlled with the medications they give her.

Thanks again for all of your support financially, spiritually and emotionally.

Looking good.
I saw mom yesterday and she's looking better every time I see her. The chemotherapy is really draining her.

She has a treatment every week but she just told me that they are going to give her a week off. Three weeks with treatments, then one with no treatment. Hopefully that will help her get her strength up.

Thank you to everyone who has sent a contribution and has prayed for my mom.

Jael is awesome!
My friend Jael has listed a bead for auction on eBay. The proceeds will go into mom's chipin. Thank you Jael.

Thank you Erin!
The earrings I made and named after mom sold today!

The money went into mom's chipin fund. Maybe I'll have to make some other earrings to sell for mom.

Mom has been pretty sick from her treatment...
I spend several hours at mom and dad's yesterday. Mom is weak and ill I'm hoping she feels better today.

I have listed a pair of earrings in mom's honor in my Etsy shop. They are pink which is mom's favorite color. I will be donating the sales price to mom's Chip In fund.

Mom is home!
Mom went home from the hospital this morning. Daddy said that the first thing she did was crawl into her own bed.

She has her next chemotherapy treatment on Friday. Please pray that she will have the strength she needs to get through this.

Thank you to everyone who has lifted mom up in prayer and also thanks to everyone who has contributed and those who will be contributing.
